And the Cameron Newton saga goes on.

The latest development in the story is that Florida Gators head coach Urban Meyer allegedly leaked information that Newton was caught cheating on three different occasions while at UF and was facing expulsion at the time of his transfer.

Meyer denied that claim and released the following statement:

"Our entire focus right now is on preparing for our biggest game of the year against South Carolina. For anyone to think that I or anyone on our staff may have leaked information about private student records to the media doesn't know us very well. It's a ridiculous claim and simply not true."

Personally, I don't think Meyer himself leaked the dirty details about Newton.

Sure, he's probably a little bitter that he let "War Cam Eagle" get away, but Meyer doesn't strike me as the type of guy to deliver a low blow like that.

He may have issues with properly disciplining his own players (see: Rainey, Chris), but I find it a little absurd to call him out as a snitch.

However, I will concede that this most likely comes from a UF source, whether it be a current or former coach of employee.

Leaking a former student's academic records is, after all, a federal crime and there will be serious repercussions for the leaker, if he's ever caught.

Hopefully, this distraction won't weigh too heavily on Meyer's mind as he prepares for the SEC East showdown with South Carolina this weekend.
