New Florida Gators head coach Will Muschamp just lost another Urban Meyer commitment.
Three-star offensive lineman recruit Chase Hounshell de-committed from the Gators to sign with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Monday night.
Hounshell announced via his Twitter account that he had decided to take his talents to South Bend, Indiana, instead of Gainesville, Florida.
Here's what Hounshell tweeted about his decision:
"I COMMITTED 2 THE UNIV OF NOTRE DAME!!! Want 2 thank Gator Country for all ur support,You guys are the best, but I had 2 do whats best for me."
Hounshell, who committed to play at Florida last August, decided to rethink his commitment to the Gators after Urban Meyer's resignation.
Muschamp and offensive line coach/running game coordinator Frank Verducci made an in-home visit with Hounshell last week.
Hounshell described Muschamp and Verducci as "first class" and "just great people," but it turns out that wasn't enough to hold onto the offensive lineman.
Florida's 2011 class is now down to just 15 recruits:
