Out with one tight end and in with another.

Just two days after sophomore Gerald Christian announced his plans to transfer, the Gators locked up Kent Taylor, the nation's top-ranked tight end according to Rivals.com.

The Land O' Lakes prospect chose Florida over Penn State in an announcement at his high school in the Tampa area Thursday.

Taylor cited his excitement about the involvement of tight ends in UF offensive coordinator Charlie Weis' playbook as a major factor in his decision.

Taylor is the 17th commitment and the second tight end to join Florida's 2012 recruiting class, joining Under Armor All-American Colin Thompson, who ranks as the nation's No. 6 tight end prospect according to Rivals.com.
