Just two days removed from an impressive 57-44 win against No. 11 Kansas State, the No. 20 Florida Gators have fallen off the wagon once again.
The Gators fell to the Jacksonville Dolphins 71-68 in overtime at the O'Connell Center Saturday afternoon.
Florida's third loss of the season resulted from their main problems this season: selfish play and carelessness with the basketball.
The Gators turned the ball over 17 times, recorded just nine assists, and made just 21 shots in 59 field goal attempts for a 35.6 shooting percentage.
"They were more of a team than we were," Florida head coach Billy Donovan said. "We were ripe to be beat."
Erving Walker led the Gators with 21 points and big men Vernon Macklin (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Alex Tyus (10 points, 11 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles.
