The Gators got one step closer to a championship Thursday evening, blasting the UCSB Gauchos 79-51. In what was never really a close game save the 1-0 Gaucho lead early on, the Gators were able to rest their starters for most of the second half.
Florida was led by Erving Walker's 18 points and 6 assists, Kenny Boynton's 13 points and multiple dunks, Chandler Parson's 10 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds, and a host of other contributors. The Gators shot 54.7% from the field, adding 22 assists and turning the ball over 13 times.
In the next round, the Gators will play the winner of tonight's UCLA/Michigan State game (9:15 PM on TBS). Either way, the Florida looks poised to make a deep tournament run.
