In one of the most back-and-forth SEC games this season, the Florida Gators held off the Vanderbilt Commodores 65-61 in overtime Tuesday.

The Gators rebounded from a tough 71-64 road loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs to hand the Commodores their second consecutive loss.

Chandler Parsons led Florida in scoring and rebounding, recording a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Kenny Boynton and Erving Walker chipped in with 15 points apiece for the Gators while John Jenkins led Vandy with 22 points.

Florida out-rebounded Vanderbilt 42-29, but they recorded a weaker shooting percentage (36.7 percent) than the Commodores (37.5 percent).

With Tuesday's victory, the Gators now lead the second-place Tennessee Volunteers in the SEC East by one game.

Florida's next game will be against the Kentucky Wildcats Saturday at the O'Connell Center at 9:00 p.m. on ESPN.
