Charlie Weis made his first recruiting visit as the Florida Gators offensive coordinator to Palm Beach Gardens to see quarterback prospect Jacoby Brissett Friday.
According to Brissett's high school coach, Weis wore one of his Super Bowl rings ("the size of somebody's hand") and told "a ton of stories about what he's done and situations he's handled."
Weis made a scholarship offer to Brissett and the Dwyer High quarterback is currently on an unofficial visit to Gainesville this weekend.
Urban Meyer offered Brissett a "greyshirt" in October, which would have required Brissett to come to UF and pay for his first semester of school and delay his eligibility for one season.
Naturally, Brissett declined and entertained full scholarship offers from Alabama, Florida State, Miami, and others.
Will Muschamp and the Gators hope they can land Brissett because with just John Brantley and Jeff Driskel on the roster, quarterback depth is an issue for Florida.
