It was all Chris Rainey on a sunny day in Gainesville.
The redshirt senior rushed for 108 yards and had 104 yards receiving, propelling No. 16 Florida to a 33-23 win against Tennessee in "the Swamp" Saturday.
Both teams' Southeastern Conference opener was not only head coach Will Muschamp's first conference triumph, but it was also the Gators' seventh consecutive victory against the Volunteers.
While Rainey is the one who will preoccupy the highlight reel (and deservedly so), the Florida defense played much better than expected against Tennessee Saturday.
While the Gators surrendered 288 passing yards to sophomore quarterback Tyler Bray, they clamped down in the ground, holding the Volunteers to just -9 rushing yards.
Florida plays its first road game of the season against Kentucky next Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
