After a season filled with big shots, the Gators could not come up with one on Saturday. Battling the Butler Bulldogs to the wire, Florida had a chance to win the game at the end of regulation and tie it at the end of overtime, but could not convert either time.

By a score of 74-71, the Gators saw their 2010-11 season come to an end. Terrific games by Vernon Macklin, Kenny Boynton, and Alex Tyus could not salvage poor shooting performances by Chandler Parsons and Erving Walker. With the game tied 60-60 with time running out in regulation, Walker missed a long three-point attempt. And at the end of overtime, Kenny Boynton missed from long range and, following two free throws by Butler, Walker missed again.

This ends a fantastic season for the Gators, who close out the year at 29-8. Butler will go to the Final Four for the second straight year, where they will face the winner of Kansas and Virginia Commonwealth.
