The Florida Gators were scheduled to host Fairfield Tuesday night, but the game has been called off due to inclement weather in the Northeast.
A major snowstorm has prevented the Fairfield basketball team from flying out of Connecticut, which led to the cancellation of what would have been the Gators' ninth home game of the season.
While Florida head coach Billy Donovan was disappointed that the Gators would not get to face Fairfield, he understood the situation and acknowledged that the weather caused "conditions that were out of everyone's hands."
The one silver lining that Florida is taking from this situation is that they now have more time to prepare for their matchup against Xavier Friday.
After last week's upset loss to Jacksonville, the Gators have fallen out of the Top 25 for the second time this season.
