Despite worries that the Gators would overlook the Commodores, Florida cruised to a 55-14 victory over Vanderbilt in Nashville Saturday.

Chris Rainey continued to spark the Gators, amassing 136 total yards, making a spectacular touchdown catch on an under-thrown pass by John Brantley, and blocking two punts.

However, the biggest news came from the quarterback play of redshirt freshman Jordan Reed.

Urban Meyer said that Reed would throw against Vandy during his weekly press conferences and he may have spawned a quarterback controversy in the process.

Reed threw a 31-yard touchdown strike to Deonte Thompson on his first passing play, becoming the first since Andre Caldwell in 2006 to throw, run, and catch a touchdown in the same season.

However, the big-armed tight end didn't stop there, totaling 130 yards through the air and 84 on the ground, scoring two total touchdowns.

Brantley didn't have too bad of a day in his own right, throwing for 157 yards and two touchdowns, but it looks like there'll be plenty of questions about the quarterback position heading into the big game with South Carolina next weekend.
