This Friday, the storied rivalry between Florida and Florida State continues with Florida State holding a 6-game losing streak against the Gators.

Currently, Head Coach Urban Meyer is 16-1 against Florida's rivals, and a win Saturday would make him 17-1. Perhaps one of the few bright spots in a disappointing season.

This year, the game-spread is Florida State by 3 points. However, Florida State is 5-6-0 while UF is 5-5-1 against the spread. In addition, FSU is 5-4-0 when favored, while Florida is 1-1-0 when the underdog.

Also, both teams are 2-1-0 against non-conference opponents.

(All-time, Florida leads the series 33-19-2)

When comparing quarterbacks, which for both teams has been a let-down this year, Ponder takes the edge with a passer rating of 133.24, 1817 yards, and 17 touchdowns; compared to Brantley's 119.64 passer rating, 1968 yards, and 8 touchdowns. (Ponder was also out for the Clemson game because of injury).

On the ground, FSU's backfield has accumulated 22 touchdowns and 2017 yards on 386 carries (averaging 5.2 yards per carry). On the other hand, Florida's backfield has run for 20 touchdowns and 1775 yards on 412 carries (averaging 4.3 yards per carry).

In the air, UF's corps have mustered 11 touchdowns and 2231 yards on 208 carries (averaging 10.7 yards per catch). However, FSU has the lead with their corps creating 2339 yards on 199 catches (averaging 11.8 yards per catch) and 19 touchdowns.

So take these statistics as you will. Personally, I think this game is up to the team that comes to play. Whoever has more passion should win. For those of you that listened to our most recent edition of Gator Raiders, you'll know I picked the 'Noles to win this one, the Gators have been beyond stagnant this year. But the Seminoles have always come out strong against their rivals, no matter what the implications are.

Prediction: Florida State 24, Florida 21.
