Florida Gators Beat Appalachian State 48-10 and End Home Losing Streak
The Florida Gators defeated the Appalachian State Mountineers 48-10 in "The Swamp" Saturday.
For the third straight week, Florida has managed to scored at least one touchdown in the first quarter. As we all know, Florida has been anything but a first half team this year. However, not only did they score in the first quarter, they managed a full 21 points, and another 7 in the rest of the half.
In addition, Florida ended their home game lose streak at the swamp after dominating FCS powerhouse, Appalachian State. Nevertheless, Florida came out on the field and scored on their first drive, something they have not been able to do since they played Kentucky.
Much to the appeal of many Florida fans, Jordan Reed was rotated in at quarterback, and accounted for four of the Gators' touchdowns, including a touchdown pass to John Brantley. Perhaps Urban Meyer took notice of Brantley's fantastic catching abilities and wanted him to actually play as a receiver for once.
