Former Florida quarterback and 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a nervous system disorder, according to The Gainesville Sun.

Wuerffel, who led the Gators to the 1996 national championship, is expected to make "a full recovery," according to Desire Street Ministries director of development Barry Snyder.

Wuerffel, who was Tim Tebow before, well, Tim Tebow was Tim Tebow (confused yet?), has worked with Desire Street Missions in New Orleans since he played with the Saints in the NFL.

The Gainesville Sun notes that Wuerrfel's progress will be posted regularly on and the organization's Facebook page.

Janoris Jenkins will play senior season at North Alabama

According to Yahoo! Sports, former Gators cornerback Janoris Jenkins will finish his collegiate career for Division II power North Alabama.

Jenkins opted to play for the Lions instead of the Valdosta State Blazers, who also play in the Gulf South Conference.

Both of my parents graduated from VSU, so it would have been nice to see a player like Jenkins take his talents to South Georgia.

However, he instead heads to the Yellowhammer State where he will ideally turn his life around and stay out of trouble with the law.
