***According to The Gainesville Sun, junior cornerback Janoris Jenkins has decided to return for his senior season as a Florida Gator.
Jenkins, a projected mid-first round pick, broke the news via his Twitter account Sunday, but nothing was confirmed until he spoke himself.
Here's what Jenkins said about his decision to come back to school:
"After careful consideration, I've made a decision to return to school for my senior year. I spent some time with my family and Coach Muschamp and came to the conclusion it was in my best interest to return to school.
"Coach Muschamp was very supportive throughout the whole process, regardless of my decision, but he wanted to make sure I had all of the facts. I'm looking forward to working towards my degree, completing my rehab, and getting back on the field with my teammates."***
According to a Twitter account that is believed to belong to Janoris Jenkins (@jenkz1), the Florida Gators star cornerback will return to Gainesville for his senior season.
It was reported my multiple media outlets (including this one) that Jenkins would forgo his senior season with the Gators to begin his NFL career earlier this week.
The account @jenkz1 tweeted, "Gator Nation I'm back...." at around 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
Considering this piece of news is coming from Twitter, it should be taken with a grain of salt, but nevertheless, it's still within the realm of possibility.
Jenkins may have had his mind set on leaving school before a conversation with new head coach Will Muschamp may have changed his mind.
The junior cornerback was selected as a member of the 2010 All-SEC team and is projected as a mid-first round pick in this year's NFL Draft.
