When the final buzzer sounded with the score tied, it could have been deja vu all over again for Florida.

But Alex Tyus did not let that happen.

The senior forward scored 19 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Gators to an 83-74 victory over Brigham Young and a trip to the Elite Eight.

This marks UF's fifth trip to the Elite Eight in school history, a round in which they have yet to lose a game.

Naismith Player of the Year candidate Jimmer Fredette put up 32 points to lead the Cougars, but he was the only BYU player to score in double digits.

Tyus led all Florida scorers with his 19 while Kenny Boynton scored 17 points and Chandler Parsons and Erving Walker chipped in with 16 each.

The Gators out-rebounded the Cougars 42-39 and won the assists battle, doling out 23 to BYU's 13.

Both teams combined to shoot 21-71 (29.6 percent) from three-point range.
