Adam Allen will forgo fifth year of eligibility
According to Kevin Brockway of The Gainesville Sun, senior Adam Allen will not return to Gainesville for his fifth year of eligibility.
Allen will be honored on Senior Night with Chandler Parsons, Vernon Macklin, and Alex Tyus Tuesday before the Alabama game.
The senior's career at Florida has been very limited due to multiple knee injuries and surgeries.
However, Allen has no regrets.
"(Participating in Senior Night) means a lot to me," Allen told Brockway. "Even though I haven't been able to compete this last three seasons I still feel like I'm a huge part of this team."
Allen used a medical redshirt, which would have given him eligibility for the 2011-2012 campaign, but he told Brockway that his knee didn't respond well during drills during the fall.
Allen averaged 10.4 minutes and 4.0 points per game during the 2007-2008 season.
His best game as a Gator was a 19-point effort in a 91-52 victory against the Florida A&M Rattlers in December 2007.
